Cultural artifacts define a culture, a people and a time in the past. For instance, china or furniture provide valuable insight about those who lived here before us. The Trust has been collecting artifacts – through gifts, transfers, bequests or purchases – since 1968 and currently has over 21,000 artifacts held in trust for the people of Ontario. Some of these objects are on loan to other cultural institutions, including the Tom Thomson Memorial Art Gallery in Owen Sound and The Perth Museum.
