Developing your own local markers

As of December 2012, the Ontario Heritage Trust’s Local Marker Program came to an end. Yet, you can continue to develop your own markers at the local level to commemorate an individual, place, event or object of local heritage significance. Examples include: a local church, cemetery or heritage building; an individual who made an important contribution to the development or history of the community; a refurbished church organ; a long standing fall fair; or an original band shell.
