Each volume of the Annual Archaeological Report, Ontario (AARO) describes the results of archaeological fieldwork conducted in the Province and licensed by the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport. In addition to promoting Ontario's archaeological heritage, these abstracts are of interest to anyone who wants to learn about the prehistoric and historic record of Ontario. These reports will be valuable references for archaeologists as well as specialists in many other professions.

The AARO series originated in 1887 and was published until 1928 by the Provincial government. The Ontario Heritage Trust resumed publication of the series in 1990.
