Artistic merit

Describe how your body of work demonstrates high artistic quality and originality (maximum of 250 words/approximately 1,700 characters).

Creative disciplines

In order to assist the Trust in the adjudication process, please indicate the discipline(s) that best characterize your previous work and/or the work that you propose to undertake during a residency.

Proposed residency project description

Please provide a brief description (maximum of 200 words/approximately 1,400 characters).

Include: Outcomes related to the artistic community, general public and/or yourself, Contribution to your artistic discipline, or Nature and quality of public engagement, etc. (maximum of 200 words/approximately 1,400 characters).

Include: Description of workplan, methodology, timeline or resources, or Demonstrated track record, etc. (maximum of 200 words/approximately 1,400 characters).

Include such things as: Contributes to the site's legacy as a vital, active centre for artistic production, Embraces the multi-faceted nature of the site (home, studio and natural environment), Fosters artistic excellence, or Contributes to the development of your practice (maximum of 200 words/approximately 1,400 characters).

Mentorship

Each resident artist is required to provide a mentorship component in his/her proposal. Briefly describe (maximum of 200 words/approximately 1,400 characters) how you would provide a mentorship opportunity to a young and/or emerging artist - for example, through a workshop, lecture, critique, studio visit, coaching, etc.

Project timeline

This application is for the next calendar year (January 1 to December 31). Residencies may range from one to six months. Please specify your preferred start and end dates. Since we cannot guarantee your first choice, please provide two alternates.
