Architecture

How a place of worship was built often tells us as much – or more – about the community it served than the people who attended. Architectural styles and choice of materials remain significant factors not only in identifying the religion but also the people who lived there and the times in which they lived. Humble materials and styles could denote a more modest faith group, which could reflect either their beliefs or the economic reality when the site was built. Spend some time here to learn more about the structures themselves – the architecture of worship – and the people who built them.
