Mackenzie House and Family, The

The seven Mackenzie brothers played prominent roles in the business and political life of Lambton County in the 19th century. John Mackenzie purchased land in Sarnia in 1856 and until 1902 members of his family lived in a house that possibly had been built by his brother Alexander. The latter, a building contractor by trade, served as Canada's second prime minister from 1873 to 1878.
