COVID-19 – Audience safety measures

We are delighted to welcome you back to the Elgin and Winter Garden Theatre Centre. We believe that the health and safety of all staff, patrons and their families is a priority and is a shared responsibility. As we transition back into live performances, the Elgin and Winter Garden Theatre Centre will be following all government and public health directions and guidelines. 

Proof of vaccination

As of September 22, 2021, all patrons 12 years of age or older, on entry to the theatres, must provide the following documentation:

  • Receipt of full COVID-19 vaccination issued by the public health authority that administered the vaccine, meaning the full series of a World Health Organization-approved COVID-19 vaccine or combination of accepted vaccines, received at least 14 days prior to the performance date. Documentation can be displayed on a mobile device or in printed form. For patrons who received their vaccinations in Ontario, documents can be accessed here.
  • Government-issued photo ID that matches the proof of full vaccination documentation.

Government-issued personal ID that will be accepted include:

  • Birth certificate
  • Citizenship card
  • Driver’s licence
  • Government-issued identification card (Ontario or other), including health card
  • Indian status card/Indigenous membership card
  • Passport
  • Permanent resident card

Note: Patrons unable to provide this documentation will not be admitted into the theatres.

Masks

All visitors and staff will be required to wear a mask that fully covers the nose, mouth and chin at all times during their visit to the theatres. Masks should fit snugly against the face without gaps; cloth masks should have at least two layers of fabric. 

Physical distancing 

Measures have been put into place to keep our patrons at least two metres (six feet) apart from other patrons throughout their visit to the theatre.

Sanitization stations

We ask that you use the hand sanitizer provided as you enter the theatre. Sanitizer can also be found at designated points throughout the venue. 

Cleaning

Enhanced cleaning measures have been put into place before, during and after each performance. Common contact surfaces and washrooms are regularly sanitized by our onsite cleaning team.

Contact tracing

For contact tracing purposes, the ticket purchaser will be considered the primary contact for any guests, and will be expected to have contact info for each member of their party, should we need to contact you.  

Access

Theatre lobbies, including access to washrooms, will be open 30 minutes prior to the ticketed time. 

Contactless ticketing

We suggest contactless entry by choosing mobile tickets for your method of delivery. Mobile tickets can be presented on a digital device.
