Neutral Indian Burial Ground

Discovered in 1976, this burial ground revealed to archaeologists an invaluable record of the burial customs and material culture of the Neutral peoples, an Iroquoian confederacy that inhabited this region before 1655. After six months of excavation and study, all remains were reinterred.
