Queen's Rangers, The

This corps was organized in 1791 under Lieutenant-Colonel John Graves Simcoe and was the first regiment raised specifically for service in Upper Canada. Among the Rangers' peacetime activities was the construction of two major thoroughfares: Dundas Street (Governor's Road) and Yonge Street.
