Remembering Allan Gotlieb

Allan Gotlieb

TORONTO - The Ontario Heritage Trust is saddened by the recent news of the passing of Allan Gotlieb. Gotlieb was a distinguished public servant and author, and served as Canada’s ambassador to Washington from 1981-89. He lectured and wrote extensively on international law, diplomacy and political science and we knew him as a passionate advocate for the conservation of Canada’s heritage. Allan Gotlieb was a Companion of the Order of Canada. Among the many positions he held, he served as Chair of the Ontario Heritage Trust (then the Foundation) from 1998-2004, and we are grateful for his leadership.
