Remembering Wilma Morrison
TORONTO - It is with deep sadness that we mourn the passing of Wilma Morrison. Wilma was a champion of Black history and is lauded for saving the R. Nathaniel Dett British Methodist Episcopal Church National Historic Site of Canada and establishing the Norval Johnson Heritage Library in Niagara Falls. Wilma was a friend of the Trust and we had the honour of working with her closely over the years. Wilma Morrison was presented the Lieutenant Governor’s Ontario Heritage Award for Lifetime Achievement in 2007 and received the Order of Ontario in 2011. She will be dearly missed and remembered for significant contributions to Black history in Ontario.
