The artist-in-residence program is intended to act as a creative partnership between the Trust and each resident artist, musician or writer. At the start of each residency, certain outcomes or deliverables will be identified and agreed on between the Trust and the resident.
As part of the residency, artists are required to provide a mentorship opportunity to support the development of an emerging artist or artists (see Criteria).
At the conclusion of a residency, the artist will be asked to share something of his/her experience, practice, approach or work with the Trust, the Centre’s partners and the general public.
Some deliverables may be worked out during the course of the residency (e.g., journalling of the artistic process using social media, video, diary entries, etc.), and others may follow its completion (e.g., an exhibit, public interview, workshop, recital or reading of a completed work or a work in progress).
