Tours of the Mint

February 17-23, 2014 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily

The Royal Canadian Mint celebrates our Canadian heritage through coins: Lake Superior in blue enamel, snowflakes sparkle with Swarovski crystals, painted reds and oranges of our fall foliage, and holograms illustrate the northern lights. Silver and gold coins are the canvas for our celebrated wildlife.

During Heritage Week, come take a tour of the Mint – in the building where it was founded in 1908. A guided tour of the Mint’s operations explains the many different state-of-the-art coin manufacturing technologies. Hold a 400-ounce pure gold bar worth more than $700,000. Or take a peek at the Vancouver 2010 Winter Games athletes’ medals.
