Siege of Detroit 1763, The

Displeased with the rigid policies of the British administrators who had taken control of the area in 1760, the great Ottawa chief Pontiac raised a strong confederacy and attacked several British posts. His unsuccessful attempt to capture Detroit effectively ended the uprising and by 1765 general peace had been reestablished in the region.
