Guelph British Methodist Episcopal Church provincial plaque unveiling

Please join the Ontario Heritage Trust, in partnership with the Guelph Black Heritage Society, on July 11, 2025 at Heritage Hall as we unveil a provincial plaque to the Guelph British Methodist Episcopal Church (now called Heritage Hall). The plaque will be permanently installed at the site following the ceremony.
This new provincial plaque to the Guelph British Methodist Episcopal Church (built in 1880) will honour its legacy as a meeting place, fulfilling the spiritual and social needs of Guelph’s Black community. It remains an important symbol of the history of the Black Methodist tradition and the long history of Black settlement in Ontario.
