Do you know members of your community who are helping to conserve Ontario’s heritage?
The Lieutenant Governor’s Ontario Heritage Awards program and the Thomas Symons Award are administered by the Ontario Heritage Trust to recognize outstanding contributions made by groups or individuals to natural, cultural and built heritage conservation in Ontario.
The awards criteria incorporate a broad range of heritage interests and activities including:
- built, natural and cultural heritage
- volunteer or professional work

Important dates
- Mid-July — applications for nominations open (see Nomination forms)
- October 10 — all nomination forms and supporting materials are due
- November — nominations are adjudicated by a jury
- December to January — awards recipients and their nominators are notified
- February — ceremony for recipients takes place in Toronto during Heritage Week
