JAZZBAH: A night of music, memory and community

Sunday, February 22, 2026, from 2 to 5 p.m.

As part of Black History Month, the Josiah Henson Museum of African-Canadian History, the Chatham-Kent Black Historical Society & Black Mecca Museum, and the Buxton National Historic Site & Museum are proud to present an evening of music, poetry and community connection at JAZZBAH in downtown Chatham.

This special program showcases the voices and visions of local Black artists — including musicians, vocalists and spoken-word performers — who share their talents in a space designed for reflection, celebration and joy. Between sets, museum staff offer brief interpretive reflections that connect the performances to broader cultural legacies and lived experiences.

Guests are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy refreshments and connect with the community. The evening will be warm, welcoming and rooted in local history — powered by the artistry of those who carry it forward.
