For Heritage Week 2020, the Lincoln Museum & Cultural Centre is open for people of all ages to come and explore their collections and participate in a number of activities.

Highlights include:

  • Visit with our costumed interpreter portraying Miss Agnes Welstead, a 1908 school mistress from the Jordan School House, built in 1859
  • Drop in for your hygiene inspection, posture inspection, and a physical fitness drill (remember your handkerchief!)
  • Write your name in pen and ink (right hand only!)
  • Write on slate boards, participate in a spelling bee, and recite a “Memory Gem”
  • Learn or “reminisce” about various methods of discipline that were used in a one-room schoolhouse (volunteers welcomed)
  • Try your hand at a cup-and-ball game or spinning top
  • View the three exhibits open now at the museum: The Wounded, Tale of a Town, and The Quiltmaker
