Renfrew Millionaires, The

In 1911, hockey stars like Lester and Frank Patrick and "Cyclone" Taylor were lured to the Renfrew Creamery Kings by extravagant salaries, which earned the team the nickname of the Millionaires. The Millionaires' unsuccessful bid to win the Stanley Cup was one of the last times a small Ontario town competed at the highest level of professional hockey.
