Sir Richard Bonnycastle 1791-1847

A distinguished officer of the Royal Engineers, Bonnycastle played a prominent role in the construction of Fort Henry and the defence of Kingston during the Rebellion of 1837. He travelled widely in British North America and wrote several books dealing with contemporary Canadian life as well as works of history.
