Toronto General Hospital

The first general infirmary in Upper Canada, this institution began operation in 1829. In association with the University of Toronto, Connaught Laboratories, and other institutions, it has achieved international recognition in the fields of heart surgery, radiology, and the treatment of kidney and vascular disease.
