Founding of Sudbury, The

The establishment of a Canadian Pacific Railway work camp in 1883 marked the beginning of Sudbury. Located on the rim of the Sudbury basin, in a region rich in natural resources, the frontier community was soon flourishing as a service centre for logging and mining operations in the vicinity.
