Built Heritage Awards 2020

Each year during Heritage Week, Windsor City Council presents its Built Heritage Awards to local property owners – certificates of appreciation to the owners of heritage properties who have restored or beautifully maintained them for the enjoyment of all.

This year, the following projects were nominated by the Windsor Heritage Committee:

  • 212-248 Erie Street West – awarded for Heritage Conservation of Traditional Commercial Storefronts
  • Willistead Manor – awarded for Heritage Conservation
  • Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church, 1410 Drouillard Road – awarded for Heritage Conservation
  • Windsor Airport Hanger 401, 104-2600 Airport Road – awarded for Adaptive Reuse and Honour
  • Queen Victoria Public School, 1376 Victoria Avenue – awarded for Heritage Conservation
  • Prince Edward Public School, 949 Giles Blvd. East – awarded for Heritage Conservation
  • Hugh Beaton Public School, 2229 Chilver Road – awarded for Heritage Conservation
  • John Muir Branch, Windsor Public Library, 363 Mill Street – awarded for Heritage Conservation, Adaptive Reuse and Honour

The presentation of the Built Heritage Awards is scheduled for the February 24 Council meeting, which begins at 6 p.m. Members of the public are always welcome.
