Provincial plaque unveiling to commemorate The Flying Frenchmen: Didier "Cannonball" Pitre, 1883-1934

Please join the Ontario Heritage Trust, in partnership with the Town of Renfrew, as we unveil a provincial plaque commemorating The Flying Frenchmen Didier “Cannonball” Pitre 1883-1934.
Before joining the Montreal Canadiens as a forward in 1909, Didier “Cannonball” Pitre (1883-1934) played for the Renfrew Creamery Kings. Pitre played 13 seasons for the Canadiens before retiring in 1923.
The provincial plaque unveiling will take place at centre ice, as part of Renfrew's annual Frewfest Winter Carnival. The unveiling will be followed by a hockey game.
This is the third in a series of three provincial plaques honouring The Flying Frenchmen.
