Captain John Brant 1794-1832

The youngest son of Captain Joseph Brant, John Brant (Ahyouwaeghs) was a leader respected by his fellow Iroquois and British administrators alike. He was the first native appointed superintendent of the Six Nations, and the first aboriginal elected to the legislative assembly.
