Elizabeth Posthuma Simcoe 1766-1850

As the wife of the first lieutenant-governor of Upper Canada, Mrs. Simcoe travelled extensively during her years in Canada. Her diaries and watercolour sketches provide a valuable picture of life in this country during the late 18th century.
