Founding of Brampton, The
Two early entrepreneurs at the crossroads hamlet of Buffy's Corners hailed from Brampton, England and were evidently successful in renaming the community when it was incorporated in 1853. Later in the century, Harry Dale's horticultural business attracted thousands of visitors to its annual floral displays and earned Brampton the additional name of Flower Town.
