Founding of Huntsville, The

Begun as a small agricultural settlement in the late 1860s largely through the efforts of Captain George Hunt, Huntsville continued to develop throughout the century, stimulated to a great extent by the engineering of a navigable water route to Port Sydney and the construction of a rail line from Gravenhurst.
