Jean Baptiste Rousseaux 1758-1812

A French-Canadian fur trader known to his English colleagues as St. John, Rousseaux had built a post at the mouth of the Humber River as early as 1791. His knowledge of the area and its native inhabitants proved indispensable to Upper Canada's early administrators.
