Robinson Superior Treaty, The

Under this treaty, which was concluded in 1850, the Ojibwa surrendered territory extending some 640 kilometres along the shore of Lake Superior and northward to the height of land delineating the Great Lakes watershed. In return they received three reserves, including the Fort William reserve, a cash settlement, and a small annual stipend.
