Wolseley Expedition 1870, The

Colonel Garnet Wolseley led an expedition of 1,200 men west in 1870 to quell the Métis rebellion at Fort Garry. Travelling via the Great Lakes and roughly following the route of the voyageurs, the expedition reached Rat Portage in mid-August.
